    How Should Cowboy Boots Fit?

A good pair of cowboy boots ought to feel like a firm handshake — snug, confident, and built to last.

When you first pull them on, they should fit snug across the top of your foot (the instep) with just a little heel slip — about ¼ to ½ inch. That heel movement is normal. Once the leather breaks in, it’ll settle down and fit like it was made just for you.

Your toes shouldn’t feel jammed, but they shouldn’t be swimming either. The ball of your foot should sit at the widest part of the boot.

Out here in West Texas, boots aren’t just fashion — they’re everyday gear. Whether you’re headed to the oilfield, the ranch, church, or date night, we’ll make sure you walk out fitted right.

We’ve been fitting boots in Colorado City since 1965. We know a thing or two about getting it right.

    Do Cowboy Boots Stretch?

Yes sir — but not everywhere.

Boots will stretch in the vamp (the lower part around your foot) as the leather softens and molds to you. They will not stretch in length.

    Different leathers behave different:

    • Full-Quill Ostrich – stretches the most and fits like a glove
    • Cowhide – good natural give
    • Caiman & Alligator – very little stretch
    • Pirarucu (Big Bass) – tough and structured

If they’re painfully tight, they’re too small. If they’re snug but comfortable, you’re in good shape.

At Wood’s Boots, we’ll tell you straight. No guesswork. Just honest boot advice.

    What Is Your Return Policy?

We stand behind what we sell — plain and simple.

If your boots don’t fit right, you can return or exchange unworn merchandise within our return window (insert your timeframe here). They must be in original condition with the box.

If they’ve been worn outside and scuffed up, we can’t take them back. Once they’ve hit the dirt, they’re yours.

We’ve stayed in business since 1965 because we treat folks right. If there’s a problem, call us. We’ll help you fix it.
